Welcome Seger Jace Paniwozik!!!

Kolton Welcomes New Baby Brother Seger Jace Paniwozik...

He's here! Seger Jace, born Monday, January 26, 2009 @ 3:32pm.
7 pounds 15 oz and 20 inches long! Our adorable 2nd bundle of joy!!!

Seger did give us a little scare at first. We went into the hospital on Monday around 1:15pm for our scheduled c-section set for 3:30pm. They bring you to a room to prep you (ask you all the annoying zillion questions) put you in your lovely gown, hook up your IV and hook you to fetal monitors (tracking contractions and baby's heart-rate). Well little Mr. Seger decided to have his heart-rate drop down pretty low... so the nurse moved me to my right side, and his heart-rate seemed to improve for about 15 minutes, then, as Scott and I were watching Rachel Ray (and I was starving by the way after fasting since midnight) Little Seger dropped his heart-rate again from the 170's to the 80's - they had initially said if it dropped again they would switch my position or put me on my hands and knees to try and get it back up. Well, he must have dropped lower than those options, because before i knew it - the nurse came back in with two other nurses, the anesthesia nurse, and the resident on call and they shoved a cathader in (not so fun) and rushed me upstairs for my c-section (Daddy was a little freaked out now - to say the least! So was Mom, but it all happend so fast)- they even warned that if his heart-rate did not improve fast - they may have to put me completely out (and not even let Scott in the room) to get baby out quick. Luckily I had one awesome nurse - that was almost on her knees while they wheeled me to the surgical room and prepped me for my spinal, just to keep the monitor on Segers heart-rate... and it did end up going back up- so they went ahead with the spinal block and ended getting him out safely (mom got bruised pretty badly out of the ordeal though). Seger wasn't quite finished giving us a scare - he had a little problem with his breathing, but finally he straightend that out too... (huge sigh of relief)! :)
Kolton is a great big brother. He was a little naughty at first (while mom was in the hospital) but he has been way better at home. He doesn't like to hold Seger so much, but he loves to kiss him and "keep an eye on him for me" (his words not mine!) :)

Mom is doing okay, but still in quite a bit a pain. The end result of this c-section was a little rougher then Kolton's, but its all worth it in the end, eventually I will heal and have my supermodel figure back... HA!

Enjoy the pics of our new little man (and his big brother)! I will try to keep updated with things. We have Seger's first doctor appointment on Friday, so I will try to update everyone on Seger's status after his check-up.
